I'm feeling a little more positive today. I'm not sure what the change is, but I'm in a fantastic mood. I went to the fabric store today to help sister in law pick out a pattern and fabric for bridesmaids dresses. She wants sleeveless, so sleeveless they'll be. I'm glad I know now. That gives me 2 months (73 days to be exact) to tone up my arms, shoulders and upper back. And 73 days to try to get off between 15 and 20 lbs. The one good thing about this pattern is that it is slightly high waisted so my stomach area doesn't have to be amazing. So I'm working on a plan. *I'm going to start putting on miles. We have a "greenbelt" that starts about 1/3 mile from our house that runs for several miles. Later this evening, I'm going to start walking it and see how long it is. I'm walking for now til my foot is feeling better. (speaking of... I started wearing 2 socks on that foot and it feels 100% better.) I'm only going to do this walk on the nights that Curt works. *I'm going to start lifting weights more consistently. I don't need to go to the gym for this. I actually have weights here at the house, under my bed. Time to dust those things off, I guess. *I have P90X here, a couple pilates videos, Insanity, and a 30 day shred here I can do. Maybe 3 of those a week. *NO ALCOHOL. PERIOD. *Time to get super serious about the diet and STICK TO IT, darn it! My biggest issue here is going to be the PP/ PV days. I hate, hate PP days. By the end of the night, I'm craving veggies so bad that I end up cheating.
So there's my plan for the next 10 weeks. We already kinda cheated this morning. We were in a hurry to get out of the house this morning. We split a ham, egg and cheese artisan breakfast sandwich at Starbucks. At least we didn't get one each, right? Lunch/ dinner are both going to be beef fajitas. So today looks like a PV day. And I need to start getting back into drinking more water.
Morning weights weren't as bad as I thought they were going to be. I'll start posting them tomorrow.

In Need of a Reset
Well... It's Wednesday. That doesn't mean too much I guess. I'm just feeling a little dumpy... I've been feeling really down lately about alot of things and because of that, "dieting" has not been even remotely close to being something I'm worried about. This morning my sister-in-law called me. She and my brother were married in front of a judge last December and had a baby boy a few days later. But they are planning a "wedding" for this June. Because I sew, she's been really picking my brain for ideas. I'm basically rebuilding her wedding dress, using pieces that we're cutting off the dress to make 2 flower girl dresses and all 4 bridesmaids dresses. On the bright side, I'm one the brides maids so I'm a little excited about making sure that mine will fit me well! So on that note... now I have a goal to work for. In a way I've had this mindset that I have nothing to work for so who gives a crap. I'd rather eat and drink what I want than torture myself. But I guess that I have a reason to lose weight now. It doesn't mean I have a better attitude yet, but I'm working on it.
A Foot Update:: It still is thoroughly killing me and Curt is getting tired of hearing me whine. He keeps telling me we should go to the doctor but I won't. But I think I figured out what actually happened. I was sewing yesterday and talking to Curt about an external hard drive on the shelf under my machines, over my feet, when I remembered a few weeks ago that that damned thing fell off the shelf right onto my bare foot, corner first. I'm positive that's what caused my issue. And now I'm wondering if I really did do some damage to my foot and maybe I really should go in. We've been working out somewhat lately but I get home and get that shoe off and my foot just inflates. Today, we dropped the car off at the shop and walked about 2 miles. By the time we got home, I had a blister on the ball of my foot. Same foot. Seriously... just cut my leg off.
Tonight while Curt is at work, I'm going to work on my taxes, cut out some fabric, work on a menu for the next week or so, sew, and clean my kitchen, girls' bedroom and upstairs bathroom.

A Serious Sock injury...
How stinkin' lame! This really is the strangest thing. I have socks that I love. And I mean LOVE! They are the socks that I freak out on my kids when I see them wearing them. They are thick and very comfortable. They are my DC brand socks. I absolutely love them and wear them every single day. I would guess I have close to 15 pairs of them. Maybe more. Well... The DC logo on the top of the foot is the same "sock fabric" but it is thicker than normal and has alot of string and seams on the inside on my foot. Well, it's no secret that I have a horrible issue with swelling in my right lower leg, ankle and foot due to the car vs bike incident of 2005 (I being the bike rider). About 3 p.m. every day, that foot becomes a purple and red puff ball. A few days ago I noticed that I was particularly more swollen than usual, but I had been on my feet most of the day and then that evening, we were weak and had Chinese food. Hello Sodium! And thus even more swelling. So there I am... pretty swollen and still wearing my workout shoes. I actually wear shoes from the moment I wake up til the time I hit the hay at night. I would put on my shoes before I put on my underwear if it wasn't weird. This particular evening, I was dying and took off my shoe (GASP!!) while watching tv and I realized that there was an issue. It wasn't until the next morning that I went to put on my shoes and socks that there was AN ISSUE. Is it possible for my sock to break my foot? Ok, ok... that's a bit extreme, but there is quite a bit of tenderness and bruising. Of course.. not enough to keep me out of shoes and socks, but I'm cutting back on the DC socks for a little while.

Hey! I'm finally down again. About time!! I'm so sick of just sitting at the same weight, day after day. Funny thing is... I haven't been being extremely good. I had a night of spending time with the toilet. I made that egg drop soup which was fabulous but omg... it did not sit well with me at all. I made it with a bullion cube instead of the regular canned chicken broth I normally use. NEVER AGAIN! It was a horribly painful and uncomfortable night.
So the working out... it slowed down a bit. We were going very regularly, but then we started spring cleaning, kind of. We were thinking that we would get enough of a work out in that way, and Monday we probably did. But then we slowed down. My oldest to kids are in Senior High and both run track. Practice is from 5:30 to 7 every week night. Tonight, the 3 other kids and I went to the gym and played volleyball for awhile and then walked laps for 20 minutes. I think as long as it works out, we'll go ahead and keep doing that. Curt and I just need to get back into the swing of things.
I think that we have decided to go ahead with the Paleo diet. We have started incorporating fruit in a little at a time and some almonds so far. I was missing the sweet food and when I would go for something sweet I would completely blow it and go over board. This fruit thing is helping out there. I'm avoiding alcohol for the most part. We both had some Sunday night, and I had a sip of my brother's last night.
I need to get to work. I have been very bad as far as my job goes. I've been lazy. I do much better when I have no kids here but also, when Curt worked days, I would work while he was working til the kids got home. I've just got to get my days back in order.

I... AM.... SO....FRUSTRATED!!!!! I'm up again today, 179.6 lbs! I stuck to the diet to a "T" yesterday and put in over 2 hours of working out!!! So annoying! Curt made a comment to me yesterday that maybe I'm not eating enough. And maybe I'm not, but I never feel hungry (til 11 pm or so at least). We eat mainly PP everyday and throw in a little veggies here and there. But we decided to do an attack phase for the next 3 or 4 days. We have also kind of tossed around the idea going to a more Paleo diet or clean eating. Not for sure if we are doing that or not, but if we don't see any positive results in the next week, that is probably what is going to happen. I'm just getting pretty discouraged since I have been "dieting" close to 2 months and I'm actually up a full pound from my original start weight.
This morning we worked out. We are trying something a new. Normally we just ride bikes. Starting this week, we started walking a mile also, trying to improve each time we go. Here are this weeks results:
Tues, 3/12: 16 min 45 sec
Wed, 3/13: 15 min 50 sec
Fri, 3/15: 15 min 21 sec
We walk laps that are 1/5 mile each, so if we stay about 3 minutes a lap, it works out to 4 mph. We're going to have to start throwing in running the straight ways and walking curves if we're going to make anymore progress. It's hard to walk much faster than that. And as weird as it seems, it's much easier on my body to run verses walk. There is so much more of a range of motion involved in walking and it kills my bad knee and ankle and my calves light up on fire. Running is so much easier on my body, but not my lungs. I need to start working on that too!
Got a turkey out of the freezer for dinner tomorrow. And Sunday. And Monday.
Breakfast:
C and J: eggs and chorizos
Lunch:
C: pork, cottage cheese salad
J: cottage cheese salad
Dinner:
C: burrito (low carb shell), cheese, pork, yogurt, almonds
J: burrito (chicken, cheese and sprinkle of veggies)
My 11 pm food craving:
egg drop soup
I know I've mentioned it several times, but this waiting up for Curt kills me. I get so dang hungry about 11 I'm ready to put my clothes back on and head to a drive thru. Thank goodness McDonalds is shut down! It was all I could do to stay home. I thought about the places I could go that wouldn't be too bad. I finally went with eggdrop soup. Good choice! Finally!

Sad, Sad day... My weigh-in weight this morning was freakin' higher than my DAY 1 weigh in!!! WTF??? I have been having issues tho. Blame that?? So Curt is back on his regular weird shift so we've been staying up late, 2am. GAG! But I'd rather do that than me go to bed at midnight and be up at 8 and then have Curt sleeping another 2 hours. So staying up is the better option. Only problem... I get dang hungry staying up that late! And that is when I get myself into trouble. All I can think about is how hungry I am and then I talk myself into going out to get something to eat. I mean.. Jack in the Box is 2 miles away and it is much easier to drive there and get something rather than going down to the frig and getting a yogurt or bottle of water. Right? Anyone there with me? It might just be me. I'm WEAK!
So this morning at 6:58 am, I ovulated. Curt and I had an 11 am appointment at the gym for fitness assessments. I knew that this wasn't going to be a pleasant thing. When I ovulate I can describe it in 2 ways. #1.) It's like someone shoving dull knitting needles up my who-ha and attempting to rip my ovaries out. or... #2.) labor with no breaks between contractions. And if your a guy... you'll never understand. Awful! So we go to this appointment. My baby making box is killing me! I'm bloated and gassy. There is pressure that feels like a massive BM but its only pressure. My blood pressure was through the roof, guessing due to pain. I've never had blood pressure that high. But we both made it through the assessment tests. Neither were great, but neither one of us were expecting anything great. For the most part, we took the tests to see how much we can improve in 6 months.
We've been doing really well with going to the gym this week. We didn't work out this morning after our tests. Curt was groggy all day long, and I felt like crap. But after he went to work, I worked and got quite a bit done and then went to the gym. I got my weights in, did 6 laps on the track and 45 minutes on the bike. And afterwards, I felt FANTASTIC! I need a better sports bra. No need to go more into that. Just need one.
I went thru one freezer to see what I have to work with for the next several days. I found a whole turkey, a whole chicken, several pounds of ground beef, ground chicken and a lot of chicken breasts. We're set for a few weeks, I think. Now to just make up a menu. I just wish I wasn't craving Big Macs. Those things are NASTY! Why do I want them so bad?
Breakfast:
egg and bacon or sausage burritos
Lunch:
asparagus and grilled chicken
Dinner:
C: taco salad, cheese, pork and yogurt
J: pico de gallo, progresso soup
Liquids:
that is something I need to keep better track of. I've had several bottles of water and some diet Pepsi

This weekend was Curt's birthday and we spent the weekend celebrating and having fun! And cleaning! We had a party at our house on Saturday and had about 30 people at our house. We spent the entire morning and afternoon cleaning this house. Wish it would stay that way! And yesterday, his real birthday, we again spent time cleaning the front yard. Curt and the boys cleaned up the rose bush and Briyanna and I cleaned out both vehicles and took both down to be vacuumed out. And then... we watched TV. We watching "Breaking Bad." Interesting program.
Diet wise... eh... Curt's weight is doing well and even seems to be going down, even despite eating a little on the bad side. I haven't even checked mine lately (3 or 4 days). Our scale is on the fritz and it frustrates me. I just need to change the battery. I'm just lazy! I'll check tomorrow. Last I checked, I was at 173.2, which is my lowest since I restarted.
Curt started a new schedule at work. He was working Monday thru Friday 9 am to 6 pm. Now he's back to his random days off and working 5 pm to 1:30 am, which sounds awful to some people, but sounds delightful to me! We actually get to see each other more than 2 or 3 hours a day and.... WE GET TO WORK OUT AGAIN!! I really think that we'll be seeing his weight drop dramatically once the workout gets going on a consistent basis. His body seems to like working out!

March 4, 2013
Well... I had a few really good days. I was down 4 lbs in 4 days but then this morning, things caught back up to me. I'm up 2.8 lbs. I'm going to blame TTOM. We were pretty good this weekend. Especially since we had no kids this weekend. We had to run several errands and we had to sew a huge chunk of yesterday. In fact, I'm almost caught up with all my orders! I can breath easy. And that's a good thing. I'm ready to have a little break. Curt's birthday is this weekend and we're having a pretty big party for him and my grandmother so.. it would be nice to have a nice clean house for that!

March 1, 2013
I'm down 1 full pound from yesterday's weight so yay me! Curt is way up from his last weigh in. He doesn't know it yet but he is going to go to the gym with me this weekend! Maybe we can get in a racquetball match! I went back to look at my "to do list" for yesterday and I suck! I only got half of my list done. I had a very lazy day. I didn't get to the gym, I didn't clean the bonus room and I didn't get my orders cut out! Good grief... then what did I do?? I'll do better today.
I have a kinda big goal. I want to lose 10 lbs by March 28. Big goal, doable if I stick to the right food and exercise.
